Board Members

Mick Davies is Chairman of AIDC (UK) Ltd. He is an independent ICT consultant with more than 30 years ICT experience, advising clients at senior levels about the management and best use of technology. He has worked for three local authorities, one hardware supplier, and a major software house. Mick was Head of IT at two London Boroughs where his strategic role focused on the innovative and pragmatic use of technology to satisfy business ends. Mick’s emphasis is on the use of smartmedia within the public sector. He has worked almost exclusively on smart cards over the past five years and was heavily involved in the thinking behind the Sheffield Smartmedia and e-inclusion centre.
He led the standards stream of the National Smart Card Project, is chair of LASSeO, the local authority smartcard standards body and is a core group member of the Smart Card Networking Forum.

Ken Bellamy is a founding Director of AIDC(UK) Ltd. Prior to this he was Head of ICT and Business Systems at Sheffield City Council with responsibility for the authority’s eGovernment Strategy and the management of a £10m per annum outsourcing contract for a range of ICT and related services. Ken has led on a number of major eGovernment and modernisation projects in Sheffield –for example the eVoting pilot for 2003 which included the distribution of 174,000 smartcards to citizens for use as an authentication credential in the UK’s largest binding electronic election to date when citizens could vote over the internet, via phone and SMS and through public information kiosks across the city. He has also led a number of EU funded projects for both the City and the region in FP5 and FP6 and Interreg IV as well as being involved in a number of high profile UK Government sponsored initiatives through the Department for Communities and Local Government and the cabinet office.
Peter Collins began his career in commercial and industrial energy marketing at Yorkshire Electricity. He moved to financial services where he undertook a number of roles before becoming Retail Marketing Manager at the Halifax with responsibility for all marketing activity across the company’s retail bank and estate agency network. At the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), he introduced an Account Management process working with major companies such as Rolls-Royce, Siemens, BAE, Caterpillar and Cummins. He has an MSc in Strategic Marketing Management and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. He is a regular conference speaker on marketing and promotional issues.

Martin Cantor was educated at Manchester Grammar and Cambridge and Oxford Universities and has worked in a wide range of roles in industry, the voluntary sector and, latterly, local government.
He currently leads for Barnsley Council on European and Regional issues, as well as a number of special projects. As part of his role he is the Secretary of the South Yorkshire Public Sector e-Forum, co-ordinating the development and delivery of a coherent and strategic public sector response to, and use of, developments in the information society.

Stephen Cross is a Chartered Engineer and a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Logistics. He is Managing Director of ATMS PLC where he focuses on warehouse management and supply chain track and trace solutions. He is on the board of the AIM UK trade association and is a past chairman. He is also on the board of GS1, the Global Supply Chain Standards organisation.

Dr Julia Glidden completed her D.Phil. (PhD) in International Relations at Oxford University, and has extensive experience in the design and delivery of global technology initiatives.
Prior to launching 21c Consultancy, Julia served as Managing Director, International for Accenture eDemocracy Services (AES) - a new business process outsourcing (BPO) unit within the Fortune 500 consulting and technology services firm Accenture. As Managing Director, Julia oversaw all global aspects of the business, including day-to-day financial and operational management and new business and product development. During her time with AES, she wrote and delivered major IT proposals for countries ranging from the United Kingdom to the Philippines and successfully navigated a highly fragmented global corporate structure to regularly generate 60% + profit margins.
